BYU Center for Animation blends 2D and 3D and wins award for it

I got sent this link earlier today about an animated short, "DreamGiver," produced by BYU students winning a student Emmy. Every time I read about BYU animation either help and/or notice from Pixar seems to get mentioned too and this time Disney was mentioned as well. This one looks good enough for a theatrical release but I'm afraid like with so many animated shorts that too few of the potential audience will ever see it.

One of the unique angles to this story is that the short in question blends 2D (hand-drawn) animation with 3D (computer-generated) animation. Pixar's "Day & Night" also did but I think in "DreamGiver" there's even more actual blending going on.
